This rainy weather makes it extremely hard to get out of bed... good thing it is still the weekend! This rainy weekend has made me do all those things I have been putting off, ie Laundry...

Wonderlust Wednesday

There is no doubt that I love traveling and exploring new places.  Though one of my favorite parts about traveling you may not know is sharing these adventures and cultures with loved ones.  I try to always send a post card from where ever I go (even if it doesn't seem like an exciting place to me) to my great aunt.  This way she feels like she is getting to experiences these places as well.  I stumbled upon A Pair of Pears and fell in love with their paper goods and post cards.

Do you have the same love for post cards as me??

A little late in the game as it is already half way through January... but better late than never, right? I decided instead of making goals for 2013, to pick one word to focus on for the year.... SIMPLIFY!

What is your one word for 2013?

DIY: Photo Backdrop

Monday, January 7, 2013

I have seen so many cute backdrops all over pinterest I figured I should be able to make my own! When I came across the amazing one above from Oh Happy Day, with the turotial included I decided it was a done deal! It was really easy and the pictures turned out great! If you are in need of a cute backdrop... this is the way to go!

Instrucitons via: Oh Happy Day

Materials Needed: Folds of Crepe Paper (buy the good stuff here or the cheap stuff here) , Scissors, Tape
Step 1:  Cut the roll of crepe paper in half (you may need a box cutter for this)
Step 2: Take the roll of crepe paper and with another person’s help, have each person stand at an end and pull until most of the stretch from the paper has been removed. (To speed up the process you can do these two at a time.)
Step 2: Fold the paper together.
Step 3:  Begin cutting fringe halfway through the fold, leaving some space in the middle.
Step 4: Turn the fold over and finish cutting the opposite side of fringe. Be sure to not cut all the way through.
Step 5: Attach one side to the ceiling and let the other side fall to the ground. Twist the bottom to create twists in the crepe paper. And you are done!
